President Mahama Calls for Peace, Reflection, and National Unity in Ramadan Message

President John Dramani Mahama has extended warm Ramadan greetings to Muslims in Ghana and around the world, urging them to embrace the holy month as a time of reflection, compassion, unity, and renewed faith in Allah.

In a message issued at the start of Ramadan, President Mahama, together with his wife Lordina, described the sacred month as a period of spiritual renewal and collective harmony. He prayed for good health, peace of mind, and abundant blessings for all Muslims observing the fast.

“Ramadan is truly a special time; a month of reflection, renewal, and coming together as one community,” he said, encouraging believers to strengthen their faith, purify their hearts, and draw closer to both their Creator and one another.

President Mahama emphasized that the essence of Ramadan goes beyond abstaining from food and drink, highlighting the values of discipline, generosity, and compassion, especially toward the less fortunate.

He also called on Ghanaians to use the holy month to reinforce bonds of love, unity, and peace across communities nationwide.

Concluding his message, President Mahama wished Muslims a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, praying that their worship, prayers, and good deeds be accepted.

“Ramadan Mubarak,” he said. “May Allah accept your worship.”

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh!

As we stand at the threshold of this blessed month of Ramadan, Lordina and I extend our warmest greetings to you and your families.

Ramadan is truly a special time; a month of reflection, renewal, and coming together as one community.

As you begin your fast, may your hearts be purified and your imān strengthened. May Allah, the Most Merciful, grant you good health, peace of mind, and abundant mercies throughout these thirty days.

May your prayers be answered, your good deeds be accepted, and may this Ramadan bring you closer to your Creator and to one another.

As you break your fast each evening with family and friends, remember that the true beauty of Ramadan lies not just in abstaining from food, but in the discipline, compassion, and generosity we show to all, especially to those less fortunate.

Let us use this holy month to strengthen the bonds of unity, love, and peace in our communities and across our beloved Ghana.

From my family, we wish you a spiritually fulfilling and blessed Ramadan.

Ramadan Mubarak!

May Allah accept your worship
